Concept

In order to mirror the company’s mark and identity, I chose a square format to best contain the logotype. This logotype format was used for each section opener. The black and white palette reflects the agency’s and the founders’ aesthetic while allowing the color of their work to shine.

For each portfolio project, an opener contains a sheet of vellum with a die cut reflecting the client or project content, and creating a window into the beauty of the project.

About the Company

Design Army is an award-winning design firm in Washington, D.C. Founded in 2003 by husband-wife duo Jake and Pum Lefebure, the company works with renowned clients both local and global. The name “Design Army” was chosen after the dot-com boom — and subsequent bust — and was chosen for its catchy simplicity and because it made the pair sound much more established. This “start small, think big” mentality continues to influence the designers and their work today.
